Located in the Lazzago Old Village (16th / 17th century), our apartments are located in the courtyards of the rural village built around the main villa. The Lazzago Old Village is built in the middle of a green area, that includes the Italian garden of the main villa and the park surrounding the rural courtyards that still retain many of their original rural characteristrics. Historically, the villa was first owned by the Erba Odescalchi family, a family that included Benedetto Odescalchi (1611 / 1689), who became Pope Innocenzo XI and was born in the town of Como. In 1835 the entire property was bought by the Giulini family; currently the property is owned by the Fondazione Conte Giorgio Giulini di Giulino through Società Agricola Lazzago Srl.
The main villa, the park and the entire village are part of the Italian cultural Heritage and are protected as properties of historical interests under the national register.
The rooms are arranged on grund level in the Mose courtyard. Our apartments are in some of the many courtyards in the green hamlet of Lazzago, a few steps between one and the other.
While we are still today inside the biggest green lung in Como, we have a lot of different services in a very close range: a supermarket is located a short walk away just outside Lazzago, different local shopping centers are within 3 Kms, local trains to Milan and Como departs from the Grandate Breccia station 1 Km away, the highway entrance to Milan / Switzerland is within 2 kms from our properties, the Arese shopping center or the Fox Town shopping place in Mendrisio (Switzerland) can be reached in less than 30 minutes and Malpensa airport is about a 45 minutes drive.
